So I got an iPad pro 4 today! π
Besides the sticker shock I'm pretty happy with it! I've been using the same iPad and iPhone for 6 years now so I think I deserve an upgrade finally π6οΈβ£
Also since I'm an artist and draw alot and do video editing and 3D modeling on it the pro was worth it for me.
@ThreeBadgersInATrenchcoat iOS is much more secure and privacy featured than anything android provides that's why I chose it.
Even custom roms aren't secure because since the software is open source and there's a million people trying to hack it they find security exploits and zero day bugs almost on a daily basis.
π€
@ThreeBadgersInATrenchcoat oh yeah I totally agree, I'm judge advocate of open source and FLOSS myself π€
On PC I'd rather run Linux mint etc
Just in the mobile world, I'm not a fan of Android OS, & unfortunately Linux hasn't got any great options yet that I know of? If they did I'd use them ππ
@ThreeBadgersInATrenchcoat no worries my days just starting. Ugh lol..
@ThreeBadgersInATrenchcoat oh I agree floss most times is better, but I'm the case of Android for some reason it's turned into a nightmare.
I haven't heard of Graphene? How is that OS? π
@Wetrix Graphene is the most private and secure mobile OS available at the moment. It is Android but ungoogled and immensely hardened for privacy and security. It even beats out the security of iOS. Now this is a gross oversimplification of the project, but I run GrapheneOS on my 3a XL and absolutely love it.
@Wetrix Its also the only mobile OS endorsed by Edward Snowden to my knowledge.
@ThreeBadgersInATrenchcoat when I get the chance I'll def look it up! Right now I barely have time to sleep with these shifts πͺβοΈ
Maybe I can afford a new phone one day π±π
@Wetrix I mean look at Graphene and Calyx (I know they aren't for tablets but your response didn't seem to be solely about tablet either), Graphene is more secure than iOS and innumerably more private, Calyx is less secure but still nothing to scoff at and even then is still way more private. Also just because a project is open source doesn't mean that its less secure, it's actually strongly the opposite. Just wanted to put that out there, enjoy your tablet and have a great rest of your day!
