@glitcher32 there's a good FOSS search engine I used to that's really good I just can't remember the name of it 🏧😆
@volpit @Wetrix The one with the best privacy seems to be https://swisscows.com/
"We do not collect any of our visitors’ personal information. None whatsoever. @glitcher32 @volpit @Wetrix I would argue that Searx.me is the best search engine if you are worried about privacy.
@kylejj Searx has never been to bad, but the layouts of all of them can be pretty bad.
@glitcher32 Yeah, I find Searx.me to have some odd issues that keep it from being my go-to. If you have to have the most private search engine though...
Just learned of Jive Search today 🤔 Giving that a try.
@kylejj @glitcher32 @volpit yes your right that's the FOSS one I was thinking about 🙂
@volpit @Wetrix Another follow up, sorry for the spam.
These are the cons I found of it.
They will perform targeted surveillance on a person if they get a valid court order.
It also has a filtered search so I can't watch any damn porn without it stopping me from searching it saying "the entered word is not allowed for under 18 year olds, since we have decided on the protection of minors".
@glitcher32 @volpit oh really? Sounds like you live in the UK where they're trying to ban porn?
Which is pretty ridiculous when your government is now telling you what your aloud and not aloud to search on the internet. 🔎🙄
@Wetrix @glitcher32 In this case he'll have to try with a #VPN I think?
@volpit @glitcher32 yeah that one is one of the best ones for sure if not the best.
@glitcher32 @Wetrix Yeah I can confirm. It's a bit too constricting
@glitcher32 @volpit I was looking at sear.xe and that's a really good one. It's the floss one I was trying to recall.
@Wetrix @glitcher32 startpage?
