There is actually nothing surprising about how the nation (and specifically ruling class) that brought us despots like Queen Victoria, Winston Churchill, and Margaret Thatcher now faces #BorisJohnson as it's next PM.

I thought so too. I now see him as a perfect example of how colonialism perpetuates itself by making myths that hide the violence it wrecks.
