If possible, move away from their services altogether.

@UnixAnt @Anprim @switchingsocial I've already deleted my account there a very long time and tell everyone not to use that shit and actively promote alternatives of every service from them.And I have blocked all contact to their servers using my own uBlock Origin list and using the Cloud Firewall addon.Anyway I feel like I have to complain when people recommend sites which embed Google shit as there might be people who do not block it and that would be bad.

@nipos @Anprim@todon.nl @switchingsocial@mastodon.at I understand that Google Analytics is insanely useful and trying to get people to move away from this is going to be difficult. I've never used alternatives such as piwik and matomo, so I have no idea how good they are. But at least we have alternatives, right? There should be a decent alternative for most (if not all) of Google's offerings...

@UnixAnt @switchingsocial @Anprim I used Matomo some time ago and it's great 👍 It shows even more useful information than Google Analytics (what I unfortunately also used a long time ago,I'm so sorry 😢) and has a nicer user interface.The only reason I deleted it is that I think I don't need tracking at all.But when I come to the other things they embed,it's even easier to find alternatives.Google Fonts is totally useless.Exactly the same thing can be archived by downloading font files and uploading them to your own server.Google Storage is even more useless.You actually have to upload your stuff there and you could do the same thing with your own server.It's paid by the way so using the own server would likely be cheaper,too.
