I work for a San Diego genetics company and for the most part it's pretty good. There are more video conferences and meetings than I'd like, but I'm remote managed so the options are pretty thin. We're quite different culturally, though.

If you don't mind me asking, what made you quit the corporate world? Had enough?

@UnixAnt I'm assuming this was for me!

About five years ago I had a hilarious mental breakdown when I worked for Fruit Towers. Took out my digestive system so I couldn't eat for months properly. Thought to myself "lets work for a smaller company." Did, it didn't work out so two years ago got my diagnosis of BiPolar and was on Home Based Care (basically psychiatric hospital from home) and in and out of work.

@RaeYcrep Yes, was for you. I was writing it whilst in aforementioned conference call. Forgot to hit reply xD

Wow. Really sorry to hear that it was due to ill health. Apologies for prying but thank you for the honesty...

@UnixAnt I have no problem talking about my health to anyone. It's good to be open about it and people like asking questions!

MUCH better now. I left back in April and got into an foundation course for art which I start in September. Hoping that will ease me back into education! Then I hope to go to Crawford art school here in Cork, Ireland. Will I go back to office work? Maybe, part-time, work-from-home.
