@Tommy @fdroidorg Should also probably give a heads up that a lot of apps distribute themselves outside of the F-Droid store, for instance Aurora Store is pretty handy for getting FOSS apps distributed by Google Play

Yes, I would say so.
But in terms of privacy, F-droid would be the first.
Also, I try to find FOSS alternatives to Proprietary apps.
Aurora Store is awesome, however, they are as well as Google Play, full of Proprietary apps.
Your suggestion is very much appreciated though ;)
