One thing that I quite like with the following is that no one but me can know what I read other than a general idea of what my machine has:
- my mirror of the RFCs and IANA documents (IETF provides an rsync server)
- my RSS/Atom feeds
- my weird Usenet server (grabs from newsgroups via the suck program)
- email as I'm self-hosted
- IRC
