@Tj Welcome! I highly recommend making an #introduction since hashtags are searchable and it lets others find out your interests. Likewise you can search that hashtag to find folks to follow who share the same interests as you.
Are there other users in your local timeline? You can start by participating in conversations there.

@syntax before I do. I joined here under the belief that (1) this software is a no ad base location. (2) the information shared here isnt tracked. Is there any way to show or follow-up on the second as a selling point?
@Tj if you mean follow up with evidence data won't be tracked, that's difficult as it depends entirely on the policies of the specific instance. If you mean arguments for why not being tracked is important, there are tonnes of articles and other resources out there. I'm also currently writing an elearning course called Digital Privacy Essentials, so watch this space!
