@archillect
"How can I be lying to him if I'm talking to him right now?"
Killer show.
@scarletvampire If you can't talk to anyone on your communication app, it's pointless.
Hey so they are putting that sensor to use.

Still wish they'd use it to bring the most secure face unlock back to their phones but alright.
@krock I think while people are tied to iPhones, it's such a different situation. An iPhone, while it does store almost everything, they're making steps towards better and more acceptable privacy practices. With let's say a vision implant that records whatever you see, if you get it when the privacy policy says it doesn't store anything, then it changes to share recordings with Tencent or Facebook, what do you do? You can't just throw it away like a phone, so where does that leave you?
lackluster it's not even viable for many. Trashing people's choice of distribution and then telling them to switch to another hardly better distribution especially isn't hurting bad actors. If people don't know about Graphene or the necessary precautions on Android, they're actually in a worse privacy and security position than they were before. I get that these are memes and jokes, but a lot of new people don't take them that way, and really take that as genuine information and as truth.
@Fuzzy62 Its not always about hurting bad actors. Trashing Windows and Mac and telling people to use Ubuntu, trashing Ubuntu and telling people to use Arch, trashing Arch and telling people to use Artix, trashing Artix and telling people to use Void. Custom keyboards over stock ones, trashing Apple and telling people to switch to Android, etc etc. None of these hurt bad actors, but yet they're some if the most common in this context. For many people, Linux isn't better. Its security is so

@TheDoctor More just the fact that I see it all of the time with, then people in the comments genuinely feeling bad about whatever choice they made because of it.
Don't switch operating systems or hold out on buying products just because someone online said about a product being only for "consoomers" or "chads" or whatever the fuck other dumb bullshit people throw around. , You shouldn't put so much stock into their half-baked unsubstantiated bullshit opinions, because realistically they don't give a single shit about you -- and the sooner that you realize that the better.
@resist1984 I'm well aware of the problems with PayPal, but just like in your boycott, you've missed the point of my post. My point was, these practices are undergone by almost every payment processor on the planet, and boycotting PayPal or whatever other companies won't hurt their bottom line. And equally misses the larger picture of the issues in sale and trading of sensitive user data in the payment industry. PayPal isn't where you should expend your energy for a boycott.
@Wetrix Amaroq has always had problems. Lacking features, unstable, unpredictable update schedule, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if the devs just gave up on it.
@resist1984 If you use PayPal to select and use an on-file card, PayPal does get some information about the transaction, as they are the first-layer payment processor. I'm not sure #boycottPaypal is the stance to take, though. Seems sort of like it misses the bigger picture.
@resist1984 75k in the U.S. doesn't get you as far as the equivalent amount of currency in another country. Rent, mortgages, food which has counter intuitively become more expensive during the pandemic, faster internet to handle a whole family's conference calls and whatever else they're doing, and have enough left over for an emergency fund? Remember, you absolutely don't get 75k after taxes. If you're in New York, for example, you won't even bring home a full 50k.
uhh... not good at bios... I'm a privacy and security advocate and motion designer from earth (i think.)
