Have an amazing rest of your day!

Next blog post is almost done, should be out relatively soon (within the next couple of days)! Really happy with how it's turned out, hope you all will be too!

@Wetrix Fucking figures. All of those platforms are just out for their own gain and don't care about anyone else, even if it's as awful as this and ruins the lives of the people in question. Fuck Twitter, fuck Facebook.

@Lunas Check out BitWarden if you need easy cross-device syncing or KeePass/KeePassXC/KeeWeb if you don't need cross-device syncing. They're both the best out there are really secure.

@TheDoctor I mean I was on a Tor node in the Czech Republic, so I'd go out on a limb and say no, though later I did get some more of those ads when I wasn't on Tor, so I suppose only time will tell.

@TheDoctor

Signal > Telegram > WhatsApp.

Telegram just collects a little more than I'm comfortable with + no encryption on chats by default just seems weird to me.

They've certainly improved like tenfold in the past year or two, though.

Why is it so difficult to find a service that can host images like Imgur that respects privacy and doesn't serve a shit ton of unskippable ads to users before they can view the image. I've gone through like ten by now and every one of them shows like "HOT WOMEN IN YOUR AREA" and all that shit before anyone can see the image that I uploaded.

People need to stop with their anti-whatsapp shit. They're awful, I agree. Everyone should be using Matrix or Signal, but people start recommending things like IRC and email, which not only do they mirror many of the same problems, they're unencrypted. Meaning that the content of your messages can be read and viewed by the providers that each party has chosen. Stop using WhatsApp, but don't use this to take your moral high ground and then on top of it recommend people worse things.

@naruciakk I don't think you should really be boosting any for those services or protocols, they're outdated and almost exclusively unencrypted. Use Signal, Matrix, or yes, even WhatsApp. At least they can't see the content of your messages like literally every "recommendation" can.

@rd I agree. I've wanted to make one for the community that collected as little data as possible and was really fast for a while now but could never really get the funding to do so. Looks like a really fun process so I'd encourage you to try it out -- good luck!

@rd Yeah, the stock matrix.org homeserver is hit or miss, today its been decent -- hopefully it stays that way. If you can't find a good one, you can always make your own! I'm sure people would love to join a channel about that if there was one.

@weltsnake For me its partially back, it'll work and then stop working.. Over and over. Also it's sort of a contact by contact thing.

@weltsnake I've really been missing it, I hope its not a multi day outage, its my only way to contact most people.
