@thenewoil Was it really a surprise to anyone? I don't think anybody genuinely thought that an app bought out by Facebook, that is now totally owned by Facebook, with nobody from the original team, who is now under exclusive development from Facebook, sent no data back to Facebook. This privacy policy change is just to cover their asses so they aren't litigated for not explicitly claiming it.
