@bazurk@mastodon.online For many of them all it took was an explanation of why discord is so bad. They store messages, images , IP addresses, they can listen to voice calls, they look at all programs open on your PC, they look at all of the tabs open in your browser, etc. All of this data is not just collected, viewed, and stored, but its also sold to over 80 companies and data brokers.
For some that didn't really care because of the whole "I have nothing to hide" argument, I said that the only way to communicate with me would be through Matrix, and if they wanted to talk they would have to switch. I also may or may not have hounded them on it for a while until eventually I got them to switch haha.
