@librebuddys I'm a huge privacy and security advocate but saying that proprietary software is often malware and doesn't respect freedoms is extremely harsh and just false in many cases. Take W10Privacy for example, among the best Windows 10 privacy enhancing tools available, second only to AME, and its fully closed source.

Thanks for the compliment :)
Free/libre software is not just about verifying.
It is about respecting your freedom and community.
Read this article to see what the four essentials freedoms are about: https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.en.html
This is a very common misconception. The free software community does not think that proprietary software are "devils", or sadists, it's just that they do this for money.
You also have a great day as well ;)
I don't think saying proprietary software is often malware is harsh or false.
Please read this article: https://www.gnu.org/proprietary/proprietary.html and read the links it gives you.
@librebuddys And while yeah, proprietary software is unverifiable, you think that the open source project with 10 million lines will be verified by the community? 99 out of 100 cases it won't. I love FOSS and Libre software, firmware, OSes, etc, but I don't think that proprietary software is the devil just for trying to keep their code a secret from their competitors either.
I love your posts I just don't agree with this in the slightest. Have a great rest of your day.
