Friendly reminder that Twitter had an "unfortunate accident" and sold your phone numbers and email addresses under the guises of "verifying you" and "increasing your security"

@Wetrix I think anyone who's still using Twitter is aware that they're essentially gambling with their personal information. It's an insecure mess of a platform.

@ThreeBadgersInATrenchcoat I agree with that. I'm starting to honestly wonder about the fediverse.

It seems like it's alot of bots and even the bigger instances don't seem as active? Maybe it's just me.

@Wetrix It will never be as big as something like Twitter, its near impossible due to the differences in marketing, profit strategies, etc. That said, the more people who use it the closer it comes to an alternative instead of it just being some niche service for privacy people as it sort of stands now. Large instances aren't always the best ones, have you tried a smaller one that fits your interests instead of a general one? There might not be as much content, but it tends to be higher quality.

@ThreeBadgersInATrenchcoat I don't want it to become like Twitter that's for sure.

Ya I'm in this privacy one which is smaller but much better than any other one I've been in.
