I'm trying out #EndlessOS.

Looks nice, but why is it filled with all this proprietary stuff? 😝

How about trying /e/ instead ? I want to give it a go myself but i'm scared of bricking the phone, it's my only one.

@lefarfadet @codewiz @tchx84 /e/ is lowkey shady as hell. I'd recommend going with a more trusted alternative if you have the chance.

Oh... can i ask is it your gut speaking, or some review somewhere or?

@lefarfadet Almost all of their bundled apps are other FOSS projects that they've taken and rebranded as /e/, this is never disclosed to the user when using the platform or any of the apps. In fact, the whole mobile OS itself is skinned LineageOS with MicroG. To make matters even worse, they didn't just take those FOSS apps and rebrand them, they then force you to have an /e/ account to use some of them. Theres more that I didn't go over, but the whole company just screams shady to me.
