@ilumium Yes, but you can easily protect yourself from general things by using Windows Defender or hardening your browser. It's much more difficult to diagnose and resolve the problem if one of the things you have blocked was linked to updates, windows defender, or the inherent security model of the system. Windows telemetry bypasses host file blocking anyway, but nothing else on the system does consistently. Just use W10Privacy, its more effective and tells you what breaks what.
