@nikolal So you have a manjaro icon but are actually on arch? Mind blown!

@Wetrix I admit I would have to do more thorough research to back it up but issues with planned obsolescence and purposefully throttling older devices come to mind. Also I'm not a big fan of being locked in a walled garden which is what I see the Apple ecosystem as.

@Wetrix I totally agree, stock android is terrible for privacy which is why I use a custom rom. But I was rather talking about arguments against Apple and not ones for android :)

@Wetrix Because you were totally into Steve Jobs? I mean, I think I could easily find some very valid reasons not to use Apple products. I don't hate it or anything but I'm somewhat sceptical

Can someone recommend a phone to buy for a person who is not technologically proficient at all and has never owned a smartphone but is not a privacy disaster? I'm really not sure here.

@jrt @kuketzblog Okay. Und die Alternative wäre dann was? LibreOffice?

@nikolal Wait, which apps are you talking about? I just had a look and at least tusky and fedilab are on there.

@nikolal Also if someone is mildly interested in the fediverse it will be easy enough to identify suitable apps. Installing them may be more of a challenge though if they're not available on the play store.

@Wetrix I'm sorry you feel that way. I feel like I should point out though that there are other reasons to go to work than money
