@gritnot It's like that for me as well. In situations like these I need to remind myself that this is no conspiracy theory as all the evidence one could need is readily available for everyone who cares to know.

I recently started using the pro version of Netguard and now I have the issue that I'm not quite sure if some connections apps ask for are legitimate. For some some Protonmail want to connect to firebaseinstallations.googleapis.com. Does anyone know what exactly that does? Is is related to push messages maybe?

@gritnot There are thinkpads that come with Linux now but maybe those are outside your price range.

@EmbraceTheGray This FreedomPhone looks very fishy to me. Their website gives little information on how they achieve this so-called privacy and so far I've only found out that they provide access to apps banned from the play store.

@nikolal I'll believe it when I see it. The year of the Linux desktop has been heralded many times and it never came. Also I'm not convinced it ever will or even that it should

@Asathor @Linuxkumpel @kuketzblog Du hast vermutlich das ungoogled-chromium Paket aus dem AUR installiert. Das kompiliert jedes mal den Quellcode, was bei einem Browser schon mal ein paar Stunden dauert.
Du könntest dir irgendwoher binaries besorgen oder es über snap/flatpak machen, auch wenn das bei Arch-Derivaten eher nicht so oft gemacht wird.

@nikolal Maybe it's a terrible port. Had similar issues with the witcher 2. Performance was better with proton than natively.

@EmbraceTheGray Well you didn't include all those details previously but since covid can be carried without any symptoms mandatory tests seem like a reasonable idea although completely unrelated to your symptoms it seems.
