@Wetrix @Kakeru That depends somewhat on the distro you use. But in general it´s not a big deal. I´m using manjaro and drivers are just available in the standard repos. Nvidia drivers are proprietary so for some distros you have to jump through a few hoops. Still it is not a big deal especially if you are not new to linux.

Try Linux Mint. Ubuntu has the reputation but it is no longer deserved. For someone who wants a system that just works, is intuitive and similar, and let's them also learn more, Linux mint is where it's at.
XFCE or Mate versions are my personal preferences, but there are others. If you like eyecandy KDE is very good and very popular.

@Wetrix @mistermonster @Kakeru This is rather a matter of taste. For a beginner I´d recommend one of the larger distros. Especially if you're coming from windows Mint is a good choice in my opinion but you can also pick Ubuntu, Fedora etc. The desktop environment doesn't matter just pick what suits you.
For gaming Pop!_OS is a good choice because driver setup. But at the end of the day you can game on all of them.

I did try matrix tonight for about half an hour. I was immediately asked if I was a SJW in our privacy fed among other things 😆
I think I'll just stick to the fed. I'd spend too much time in there 🤣
@Wetrix @mistermonster @Kakeru Very welcome. I would also add that protondb.com for steam games is a great resource as well as lutris.net and the lutris app for (almost) everything else. Between those you should be able to play most games that are playable on Linux.
