@joshbdoc I agree with you in an ideal world. :)
But these objects are useful and provide value to people.
The trick is to balance privacy and convenience, else most average folks will always default to convenience.

@Obscurequokka let's not forget Amazon's "low power" network called "Sidewalk" which they flipped the on switch on all of their devices without user knowledge or consent. There have been some projects out there for open source alternatives but I don't want any part of these IoT surveillance devices :)
