You can tell Google to fsck themselves with their "payment policy" by simply installing Wireguard from F-Droid which I've been doing since version 1 news.slashdot.org/story/19/10/

Also tons of other cool apps on F-Droid, all open-source, carefully checked for privacy violations and built from source.

@gray I'm not sure if I watched the right commercial as it doesn't seem to be linked in that article you posted but the one I saw didn't seem to controversial to me, just some guy making a sausage casserole for his daughter :-)

@glitcher32 buy something that's compatible with OpenWrt and give that a go, doesn't have to be super expensive either, I did it recently with a Xiaomi wireless router ($30) I had at home, was a lot of fun and the device performs really well with some advanced features.

I made a thing github.com/SimonBrazell/nitter, it's a simple browser extension that redirects Twitter links - twitter.com, www.twitter.com, and mobile.twitter.com to nitter.net instead. Works in Firefox and Chrome.
