You can tell Google to fsck themselves with their "payment policy" by simply installing Wireguard from F-Droid which I've been doing since version 1 https://news.slashdot.org/story/19/10/16/2215248/google-ejects-open-source-wireguard-from-play-store-over-donation-links
Also tons of other cool #android apps on F-Droid, all open-source, carefully checked for privacy violations and built from source.
@Wetrix interesting. I started watching it thinking 'this will be good for a laugh' but now I'm curious to know just how much truth there is behind the claims in it...
@gray I'm not sure if I watched the right commercial as it doesn't seem to be linked in that article you posted but the one I saw didn't seem to controversial to me, just some guy making a sausage casserole for his daughter :-)

@kravietz Wooden Shjips rock, I forgot about these guys... checkout Naxatras if you haven't already, saw them live the other night 🙂
@glitcher32 buy something that's compatible with OpenWrt and give that a go, doesn't have to be super expensive either, I did it recently with a Xiaomi wireless router ($30) I had at home, was a lot of fun and the device performs really well with some advanced features.
@tetchey no worries, trying to put it on the web stores now.
I made a thing https://github.com/SimonBrazell/nitter-redirect, it's a simple browser extension that redirects Twitter links - twitter.com, www.twitter.com, and mobile.twitter.com to nitter.net instead. Works in Firefox and Chrome.
I'm interested in things!
