Caruana and Wang had the most number of points at the end of the FIDE Grand Swiss tournament. Wang won on tie-breaks and has earned a place in the candidates tournament which will produce the challenger for the 2020 World Chess Championship.

The FIDE World Cup has just been won by Teimour Radjabov in the blitz portion of the tiebreak after the rapid portion was tied. Maxime Vachier-Lagrave took third place.

Both Radjabov and Ding have earned a spot in the candidates tournament which will produce the challenger for Magnus Carlsen in the World Chess Championship 2020.
