@greyor I hadn’t heard of POV-Ray before. Raytracing sounds like a cool thing to dig into though. I’ve never really learned emacs (focused on vim instead) but I’ve always been impressed when looking over the shoulders of emacs gurus.

Both python and java are pretty hard to optimize for runtime performance. Sometime I think about whether developing in C is worth it since the gains you get in runtime might be offset by the time you spent debugging your program.
