I legitimately paid for Pocket Edition, but at some point (I think when it became Bedrock) they added DRM and it now it "can't verify" or whatever, so I have to pirate something I paid for. Later, when I switched to Java, I chose to pirate it to get back at them for the Windows keys that came with my computers that I was forced to pay for despite not using.

@Le3Kat imagine buying Minecraft after a long time playing through a cracked launcher just to find out you have to migrate to Microsoft, which you don't want to do due to your beliefs. Ohhh
