@nikolal I have zero faith on change.org petitions.
Actually, I'm curious: has a change.org petition ever achieved anything?
They don't even check for government-issued documents. It's so easy to sign 5000 times. Change.org is a scam.
Google, Mozilla, and Apple are blocking an encryption certificate issued by the Kazakhstan government, which citizens were asked to download, and which critics say would enable the government to monitor users' internet traffic.

@aardrian This wouldn't have happened if you didn't rely on cloud calendars and cloud e-mail providers 😀 👍
Or if you don't want to self-host, try something new: some privacy-respecting service. https://www.privacytools.io/providers/email/
I like FastMail but that one is not featured on PTIO. I suppose it's because it's hosted in the US, is that right @jonah ?
If your Google Calendar is getting filled with spam appointments (see pic of mine), how to partly fix: https://www.theverge.com/2019/8/23/20829615/google-calendar-spam-events-sharing-email-how-to-stop
The irony of @googlecalendar@twitter.com enabling these security failure defaults while @Google@twitter.com talks privacy this week is not lost on me.
If 20% of a group are harassers (evenly across genders), & the group has more men than women… then each woman gets 16x more bad experiences than each man.
The Petrie Multiplier: in a group where x% are bullies/harassers, the minority will feel it (x/100)^2 more.
This blog post has stuck with me through the years. I like the maths in it, & I like the conclusion that attacking sexism/racism etc doesn't have to be an attack on the majority.

Things I liked about 80's/90's computing:
- Total control over my hardware
- Software that worked with me, not against me
- Superior aesthetics (yeah I said it :3 )
- Overall sense of promise and freedom
Things I like about computing today:
- Easy and open access to knowledge
- Insane amounts of storage
- The sheer computing POWERRRR
Now if only we could make these attributes come together instead of being period exclusive.
@jonah Will probably wait a little before I get it for myself.
@Joshua I just don't use Apple Pay that often, and if I have to use my physical card I wouldn't use this one because I get better rewards from NFCU and Discover.
It has some features I'd like to see other cards implement like on-device processing (so Apple can't see transaction data) and the lack of a printed card number, but as a product it's just an average card.
@jonah 🤷♂️nothing remarkable, I guess.
@jonah Is it any good? 🤔
