@thedeltaflyer Yeah behavior like this is weird to me. I could give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they're just moving too quickly to realize. I think these are like office politics strategies that people pick up consciously or unconsciously.

@thedeltaflyer well at least you explored the option! Sounds like you thought it through.

But I will pose you 1 question rhetorically, to consider, but not necessarily to answer:
Are you giving yourself excuses to avoid taking on responsibilities that would be good long-term, because they scare you?

Do not avoid your worries through simple distractions.

Redirect the mind to be truly focused elsewhere.

@aparrish I think you're stretching the definition of "work" here...

The real problem with fucking a sheep is that you have to walk around
in front every time you want to kiss her.

@dianoetic I find writing also helps organize the thoughts. Sometimes when crafting a response, I find that what I was thinking didn't make all that much sense and I have to reconsider it. Especially if I want to communicate my thoughts to someone in a coherent way.

Do people in your organization actually respond to calendar invites?

Do you care if they do/don't?

Is it like a power move to just ignore questions in emails that you don't have the answer to? I see people in senior positions doing this.

A child born today will never know privacy.

Everything that they do and everything that they say will be recorded, analysed, and monetised.

They will take for granted that this is the way that the world is — unless we do something about it now, while we still can.
