Why is there anything at all?
@InternetRooky I often wonder the same thing. The implications terrify me and sometimes send me into a panic attack.
@gwent yeah the mind can get pretty creative on this topic and sometimes go down a scary path
@InternetRooky To me, a complete layman, it seems beyond probability that nothing would exist as opposed to any existence whatsoever. So.. what happened and why?
@gwent I think we're all laymen on this topic. Yeah it's interesting. I'm going to speculate: If nothing is around to perceive anything (i.e. living creatures), essentially infinity is able to pass more or less instantaneously from the perspective of any potential future observers - so even if its against the odds - infinity passes and probability (however small) becomes irrelevant. We as observers just see the outcome that is already here.
@InternetRooky So if the chance of existence is 1 in infinity, it's almost certain to occur given infinite chances to do so. And we're here on the other side viewing the results of an infinitesimally small chance of existence, wondering how it could have happened. I like that, but it still doesn't satisfy my desire to know why it could ever happen in the first place.
