Im interested in starting a mastodon instance, does anyone have advice on how to?
@FluhartyML the docs at https://docs.joinmastodon.org/administration/installation/ are pretty decent and thorough tbh. You could also pay a provider to set up an instance for you.

@FluhartyML for providers? Seeing as I provide hosting I might be a bit biased! 😜 I'm at https://nablahost.com/services/activitypub-hosting/ — I've also heard good things about masto.host, they're pretty popular.
@jonah i like how you charge a reasonable price annually, is it per 12 mos or 10?
@FluhartyML We just launched https://sprocket.group after reading https://runyourown.social. Small cloud server, domain name, we did the docker installation, and it pretty much worked out of the box.
