Question: If I would want to talk with people about hobby/topic/thing that is not related to the instance I'm sighed in, should I open another account dedicated to that hobby in a different instance, or should I use this account for everything?
I am asking because my assumption would be that people joined this community to probably talk mosly about privacy related topics, and would not be very keen if people posted about art, for example, in the local timeline.
@Avneor I’m new too. You can always talk to folks in the other instances from this account. But as was mentioned, you may not get replies from folks here. I just scroll past.
@Avneor also if you’re on iOS, Toot! lets you browse other instances without joining.
@Avneor The main theme of here is obviously privacy but people are allowed to post off-topic stuff to.
Think of it kind of like a community that really above all likes talking about privacy but they are allowed to talk about other things in their lives to 🙂
@Avneor the instance you're on (social.privacytools.io) is mainly focused on privacy, though really, as long as you keep it civil it doesn't matter what you talk about.
Still trying to get the hang of this place.
